More than 50 years of family-history
In 1965, August Friederichs originally built 'Hotel Friederichs'. It was a landmark close to the train-station, being a new, comfortable and family-owned business. August Friederichs son, Theo, became a chef and hotel specialist to eventuallaly support and join his parents' business.
In 1985, Theo and his wife Heidi started a business of their own and opened the restaurant 'La Provence', which soon received a Michelin Star for its excellent quality of food and service. Unfortunately, for health reasons, August and Getrude Friederichs could not remain running their hotel. It was hard decision, but in 1992 the hotel was offered for lease and was shortly after leased by a third party. Offering the hotel for lease turned out to be a big mistake.
Luckily, in the year 2000, Hotel Friederichs became property of the Friederichs family again. Theo Friederichs decided to renovate the place entirely. As a result, the hotel received the rating 'three stars garni'. Guests kept asking for a possibility to dine and have breakfast, so Theo Friederichs opened the 'Bistro NT' attached to the hotel in 2003. Ever since, the hotel is rated 'four stars' and offers a great place to stay for visitors of all kinds.
